PALS Funded projects

Project #1 Start: 10/13/2013

1. Create daily data dumps in csv format sent by email.

  • Missions list (all pending) For filled missions, indicate whether the pilot has requested a mission assistant and/or a backup. Also indicate if there are pending requests as backup.
  • All active pilots
  • Active passengers

Distribution list:

  • PALS-Karen Krolikowski (Karen.Krolikowski@palservices.org)
  • PALS-Amanda Ranieri (Amanda.Ranieri@palservices.org)
  • PALS-Eileen Minogue (Eileen.Minogue@palservices.org)
  • PALS-Jen Hotsko (Jen.Hotsko@palservices.org)
  • Mark.hanson@supplychainalliance.com
  • James Platz (jimplatz@gmail.com)

Plan: Since this falls outside the core application, work on this first. Create the database objects that generate the recordsets, then set up batch processes to send them by email. Assume multiple iterations based on user feedback, but the first pass should be done by 10/15.

2. Fix sorting of the missions available and missions pending lists. Due to a bug in the symfony framework, this will require a workaround of the function in the framework that generates the recordset. Since we're doing that, this fix will include some other request for the missions pending list:

  • addition of new fields
  • sorting
  • grouping by mission and itinerary

Plan: Create new format as an alt display and present for user feedback by 10/21.

3. Add backup pilots to the pending list

  1. Create daily data dumps in csv format sent by email.
  • Missions list (all pending) For filled missions, indicate whether the pilot has requested a mission assistant and/or a backup. Also indicate if there are pending requests as backup.
  • All active pilots
  • Active passengers

4. Missions available email (to pilots)

  • Change to daily
  • Create different sorts:
    • By origin airport (alphabetical based on the ident, then date, time, mission #)
    • By weight (descending order), then date, time, mission #
    • By leg distance (descending order), then date, time, mission #
    • By date, time, mission #

5. Add AFOK coordination roster to PALS system for their review

6. Mission statistics

  • Train staff on how to use statistics (which reports report what data)
  • Update PALS permanent mission statistics to catch them up from a lapse in AFIDS 1
    • This will require conversion of airline flights to commercial type

7. With remaining time, work on the itinerary changes

  • First priority, change the itinerary edit screen so that it doesn't set the wrong expectations about editing mission data.
  • Second priority, streamline the process of creating new missions in an existing itinerary, either from scratch or reversing an existing mission
  • If possible, Add breadcrumb to facilitate making changes to the missions at the mission level. This depends on pending design work.
