The add itinerary feature is used when adding a new trip for a passenger. It allows you to add multiple missions at one time, so you can add flights to and from treatment all at once.
The add itinerary link is found under the mission coordination tab at the top of AFIDS. The date requested is pre-populated to display the current date of when the itinerary is being added. To change the type of mission, simply use the drop down menu next to mission type to select the appropriate category.
Once this is done, you can move on to add specific mission info. Under the "mission 1" header, use the drop down menus to portray whether the passenger is starting at home and ending at treatment or vice versa. Enter the travel date, appointment date, and use the drop down menu to select an appointment time frame. If the passenger is also scheduling a return mission, select the box to say "yes" next to "mission 2". The drop down menus to specify the start and end of the mission should pre populate based on the specifications entered for mission 1.
The next step to adding a mission itinerary is to add the passenger. When you begin typing a name in the passenger field on the right side of the page, a list of passengers should appear from which you can select the correct name. If you are unable to find the passenger's name in this list, double check that they are already entered as a passenger in AFIDS. If not, you will need to go through the process of adding a new passenger before you can add a new itinerary.
Once the passenger is added to the itinerary, specify baggage weight. Passengers are told to limit their baggage to 25lbs unless they have medical equipment or extra baggage to bring for a specific reason. Include a description of this extra baggage, for example an oxygen tank, if necessary.
Next, you add the requester information. This is the same process as adding the passenger. When you begin typing a name in the requester field, a list of requesters should appear from which you can select the correct name. If you are unable to find the requester's name in this list, double check that they are already entered in AFIDS. If not, you will need to select the add new link to the right of the field in order to add new requester data. Also enter the medical facility and lodging name if applicable.
Once all information has been entered, click save at the bottom of the page to move on to the next step of the process. This should bring you to a page displaying "Itinerary #----- Details:". On this page, you should see both passenger and requester info, as well as the mission(s) you created on the previous page.
To add a leg to a mission, click the add leg tab. Select transportation type, making sure to specify whether it is a regular air mission, a ground mission, or a commercial mission. Once this has been selected, you can enter the mission details in the origin and destination airport fields. You can type in airport codes or airport cities, and a list will appear from which you can select the appropriate airport. Click save this leg, and a new tab with an image of the transportation type (ie a small plane, a commercial plane etc.) should appear. To add another leg, simply click the add leg tab and go through the same process.
